Kindness.. word of the week.

Kindness.. word of the week.

This week is National Random Acts of Kindness Week. In the course of about 30 minutes I experienced 4 identifiable acts of kindness. I needed some eggs but didn't want to go to the grocery store. My favorite Bakery also has a small refrigerator with a few necessities. So I picked up a dozen eggs. While there my favorite barista said "Cathy, do you want your usual? I gave her a thumbs up and a smile. She doesn't have to remember what I like, she doesn't have to ask me how I'm doing, but she always does. #1. As I juggled my cappuccino and scone trying to open the door.. it magically opened and a nice lady on the other side said, oh you go ahead. I said Thank you, #2. I went to the post office to check the mail and on my way out, I was first to the door and opened it as a gentleman was coming in.. he said Thank you.. I said your Welcome #3 and when I got home and looked at my carton of eggs I saw that the Carton was colored and there was lettering saying Chocorua Eggs.. and inside were 2 little chicken stickers. Now I'm not 100% sure, but I remember a story from last summer about some young person in Chocorua who had chickens and sold eggs. I am guessing these were hers. I felt happy to have eggs from such loved chickens and that someone took the time to create a pretty carton to bring them home in #4. So my challenge to you is to be aware of those tiny little random acts of kindness.. It certainly will brighten up your day. If you had one take a moment to share it in the comments. You just might brighten up someone's day. #Altrusa #altrusadistrictone #Randomactsofkindness
